Din of Man
04:21
|
|||
Crossed the seas of lies
faired the blowing winds of war
still the patient voice of darkness
guides you ever closer to the door
but the choice to pass through it
must be yours.
Can you hear the din of man across the land?
oh, the bustle of confusion
like a babe without a mothers guiding voice
led astray by some illusion
If you see everything that I see and more
whats it for?
Remind me of a time once told
When days were long and the nights were cold
upon the backs of beasts they rode
down through the valley that I now call my home
you could hear them as they laughed and played
danced and sang songs to the heavens
praying for rain.
It started out as a soft silver, blue light
pushing from the back of a black night
When you hear the hammer falling
and the cry of the great white wolf
I'll be waiting for you there
where the heavens meet the hollows.

Sometimes I wonder if she's even alive
or if she's just this bashful little girl
who ain't ever gonna die
I don't care if she don't know who I am
I've got her in the palm of my hand
and I know that one day she'll be calling me her man.
Red lips
Silver tongue
Starry eyes underneath the midnight sky
I don't wanna live my life all alone
so i'll leave behind my lonely little home
just to find some way to move through space and time for her
They say it's impossible
for me to ever know who you are
but all I gotta do is believe in you
and this apparition ain't in my mind.
It's just a matter of time before I call you...
they keep on telling me
not to hold my breath
but what do they know?
They say it's impossible
for me to ever know who you are
but all I gotta do is believe in you
and this apparition ain't in my mind.
It's just a matter of time before I
make you mine.

Hey brother
from another mother
I don't see you all the time
but you're on my mind
Little sister
come over here and let me kiss you
I've been gone so long you know I'm really
starting to miss you
Hey baby
ain't it crazy
that this rich old man
is trying to keep me down?
He don't know me
he don't understand the life I lead
and he ain't got no empathy
for me
There is only one thing I can do
to show everyone that I meet
If your heart is open and you speak the truth
you'll have everything that you need.

Together in a Dream
05:42

I drink my wine and smoke my weed
I get as high as I could ever be
Fall asleep and start to dream
In this dream I meet my Turquoise Queen
Believe me, or don't
She caresses my face
I start to breathe heavy
I've never known a touch like hers
All within the perfect smile
she lets me know that I'm the only one
I think I've known it for years
but I've never seen it so clear.
Now my Queen, I must wake from this dreamland
and return to where I belong
I may never again lay eyes on you
but if I do I can tell you...
you will never be forgotten.
Believe me, or dont
Believe me, or dont
Believe me, I'm stoned.

I took the medicine
to my baby 'cause the doctor prescribed it to her
when she was sick in bed.
Now my baby's dead
and I can't understand what the man with his hand
in my face just said
"I know it's hard to believe me
but I think I know whats best for you now."
another trip to the white room
where the white man in a white coat tell you how to feel.
We know that you might be sad
but we've got something to fix all that for you now.
Just put some money in my hand
the pain, the heartache and love that you feel
will all disappear and leave you
feeling nothing."
I took my money out
and threw it onto the floor at the foot of the man
who was drooling for it now.
"The only thing that I want from you
is to be left alone 'cause I'll do just fine
being on my own.
and it's starting to make me mad
that you can't understand that the feeling I have
are real.
I don't mind a little pain
'cause the heartache i felt is just proof to me that
I was in love with someone so the least I can do
is remember her."
I took the medicine
to my baby 'cause the doctor prescribed it to her
when she was sick in bed.
Now my baby's dead
and I can't understand what the man with his hand
in my face just said.

The River
04:17
|

Maybe I've always been this way.
Pouring through the annals for
all that I've let slip away
If I don't look back and I
let the past be the past
Then maybe, just maybe
I'm better off this way
floating down the river towards
whatever mysteries lie ahead.
I thought that I needed it
but I couldn't see that it
was only bringing me down
I waisted my time with it
my mind was consumed by it
and it dragged me into the ground.

Manifest Destiny

I've seen the ancient empires
give way to the rising seas
so I stand on top of this mountain
until the ocean crawls to my feet
then I dove into the new blue world
and dug all that I could see
15 painted dolphins
flashing over the sunken forest trees
carrying behind them, a chariot of coral reef
Off in the distance
the last lights of Los Angeles
burned away.
There I saw a man
looking through his window
with his head in his hands
because he knew
that all the wealth and power that he had
would never love him back in the end.
I thought I heard a voice calling from behind me
so I turned around to see who it was
to my surprise, the perfect form of a silver woman
caught my eye.
She waived me aboard her chariot
and we took of toward the sky.
As we passed overhead
she looked down toward the city
and she said to me,
"You were born into this.
Now you will see that there is another way
where everything and everyone is love.
Love, Love, Love...
You were born into this
but there's another way.
All I am is love for you
and everyone."
